Snow Days, Sew Days

Hello again Blog Followers!

Yes, I am back sooner than I expected.  No, the move has not happened.  We had a late spring visitor instead...Winter Storm Evelyn!  She is still here and it is still snowing as I write this.  When all is said and done, she will leave over 2 ft. of new snow in her wake before she clears out tomorrow sometime.

Meanwhile, Denis and I have hunkered down to wait out the storm.  My packing is done, my chores are done.  So, what to do on this wintry spring day?  Sewing, of course.  Today I start a new project, a quick flannel quilt that will be a gift for one of my granddaughters at Christmas this year.

These fabrics are from the Ric Rac Paddywhack fabric line, designed by Kim Diehl for Henry Glass Fabrics.  The colors are so vibrant and the designs are just plain FUN!  And, it is my favorite fabric, too....Flannel!

So, let in snow, let it snow, let it snow while I sew, sew, sew!

Till next time....

April UFO Report & News!!

Hello Blog Friends!

I'm sad to say that no progress has been made on the UFO list this past month.  Due mostly to a piece of news to share with you...

Denis and I have purchased a different house, so we have been busy with all the meetings and appointments associated with that.  But, mostly, we have been packing and packing.  We closed on the new place on April 6.  Painters and new appliances will follow in the next few weeks, then we will officially move in on the 26th.  Until then, we have a few fix-ups and changes to do.

Here's my progress so far:

So, instead of sewing or scrapping, I've been packing.  No easy task for a crafter with two passions: sewing and scrapbooking, with plenty of supplies for both!   Then there is Denis, who is into trains and woodworking.   Add to that, the accumulated belongings from the past 10 years of homesteading in our present house.

I probably won't be posting again for a few weeks.  I'll be working days at the new place getting it ready to move in and here at the old place, getting it ready to sell.

Wish me luck, and I'll be back after the move!

Till then...

Mini-Man Sewing at Grandma's House

Hello Blog Friends,

Corey and I spent one day together last week and we finished his tshirt quilt.  Here is a picture of the finished quilt:

Corey did all the sewing on the quilt top and back.  Grandma helped with quilting and binding.  Finished size is 52" x 68".

We think it turned out GREAT!  What do you think?

Next time...UFO update and some BIG news!  Till then...
